The study of Economics has undergone a tremendous change within the last fifty years due to the application of quantitative statistical measurement which is used in evaluating economic, financial and monetary cases and for the prediction of future impacts. This led to the discovery of new economical concepts and the provision of knowledge which tell about the dynamics of economical changes.

This development emerged as a result of the development in statistical sciences since statistical measurement became an integral part of economics, related to price, payment and investment.

So it is very difficult to separate statistics from economics.

The Economics and Applied Statistics have been built to promote research on all walks and statistics in particular. Consideration is taken regarding compatibility of the program with the worldwide trends in economics and applied statistics to widen the students knowledge and skills.
